Overview on tariffs
In the Bremen area ticket fares depend on the tariff of the
VBN in northeast Lower-Saxony on the regional tariff of the
VNN. Equivalent to this around Hamburg the tariff of the
HVV is effectual.
The transport fares accomplish as follows:
Verkehrsverbund Bremen Niedersachsen (VBN)
There are various zones within the VBN. The more Zones you travel the higher the tariff (A H). Additionally there is the tariff I within the cities of Bremen, Bremerhaven and Oldenburg (and tariff II only in Bremen). The tariff map makes it possible to check your transport prices.
VBN: Season tickets for pupils, students and apprentices
Special tickets for pupils, university students and apprentices are available for 7-day or monthly validity. All tickets are available in all pay levels and are personal tickets, i.e. you need a customer card with photo. This card is issued by the EVB in Zeven after presenting a certificate of the education institution.
VBN: Customer card for usual season tickets
You need a customer card of the VBN if you benefit from a 7-day, monthly, yearly or job ticket that is used to document the validity area. Get your VBN customer card from the bus driver.

Verkehrsgemeinschaft Nordost Niedersachsen (VNN)
The regional tariff of the VNN applies in north-east Lower-Saxony. On the countryside you pay for every two kilometres and within the cities special prices. It is possible to use all busses within the VNN with one ticket, also if you change and use busses of different companies.

Hamburger Verkehrsverbund (HVV)
The HVV has different pay scale areas (rings and zones). For single and day tickets the rings apply, for season tickets the number of zones is responsible for the price.
