Public transport networks

Trains and busses of the EVB travel within the boundaries of three Public transport networks.
VBN - The Verkehrsverbund Bremen/Niedersachsen (VBN, public transport society of Bremen and Lower-Saxony) is responsible for connections between cities, districts and municipalities in the greater Bremen area and its larger surroundings in Lower-Saxony. Because of a homogenous ticketing system customers are able to use all public transport with one ticket. 34 transport companies are unified within this ticketing system.
VNN - The Verkehrsgemeinschaft Nordost Niedersachsen (VNN, public transport society of north-east Lower-Saxony) is responsible for the public transport within the districts of Cuxhaven, Harburg, Lüchow-Dannenberg, Lüneburg, Rotenburg (Wümme), Soltau-Fallingbostel, Stade and Uelzen. Again, in this case 25 transport companies serve the customer with only one main ticketing system.
HVV - 38 different transport companies travel within metropolitan Hamburg under direction of the Hamburger Verkehrsverbund (HVV, public transport society for Hamburg) that also guaranties one scale of charges. As the oldest Verkehrsverbund in the world the HVV has been established in 1965.
